That Gopher Hockey Puckast: Episodes 2 & 3

Because there was so much to discuss this week we did something different: We split everything into two podcasts.

Twice as much content. Twice as much college hockey in your ears!

As a reminder, if you subscribed to our old podcast, that feed will no longer work. You need to subscribe to the 'Cast In Gold feed wherever you listen to podcasts. Here it is on iTunes.

And leave us a review and five stars while you're at it.

First up is Drew and I - alongside producer Tom Schreier - discussing last weekend's Big Ten series against Penn State. We go into the highs of Sunday and Brannon McManus' hat trick, the lows of Friday, ponder what the freshmen playing well means and answer your Twitter questions.

Those who texted Jimmy Butler over the summer can direct download here.

Next up is an interview with Brad Schlossman of the Grand Forks Herald, the first guest of our new iteration. He gives the inside scoop on North Dakota's opening two weeks of the season, who to look out for and more. We also discuss why the rivalry between North Dakota and Minnesota has stood the test of time, what to expect at Ralph Engelstad Arena and Brad gives his Grand Forks food recs.

Those willing to fork over $100 for college hockey tickets can direct download here.

Stories mentioned and plugs:

Here is Drew's piece on Tyler Sheehy we discussed. You can follow him on Twitter @covedrew.

You can read my Tyler Nanne feature over at The Athletic - if you've yet to subscribe, now is a really good time. For the next week you can (click the link for the offer) subscribe for the price of a fancy coffee every month ($3.49 a month/$41.99 for this year) and get access to the entire site. It's not just my college hockey work. You get Michael Russo's Wild coverage, in-depth Wolves writing, national hockey coverage, baseball with Ken Rosenthal, college football with Stewart Mandel and basketball with Seth Davis, along with all the cities.

Brad's work can be found in the Grand Forks Herald and his podcast with Nate Ewell, College Hockey Today, is a must-listen. He came out with a cool story today on the rivalry by talking to the referees who regularly drew the Minnesota-North Dakota assignment and getting their perspective. You can follow Brad on Twitter @schlossmanGF.
