2019 Men's Frozen Four Features (Multiple Outlets)

Finally getting around to posting my work from the 2019 men's Frozen Four in Buffalo. Overall, I enjoyed the weekend. It's easy to see why Buffalo hosts so many NHL and international events.

While there, I wrote for three separate outlets: College Hockey, Inc., Minnesota Hockey Magazine and the Minnesota Wild's website Wild.com. The work can be found below with explanations.

College Hockey, Inc.:

The first feature is on Denver senior and 2017 Frozen Four MOP Jarid Lukosevicius and his motivation returning to the Frozen Four. One of two remaining seniors after an exodus of players to the pros, Lukosevicius' game continued to evolve under first-year head coach David Carle.

The second feature is on Massachusetts senior Brett Boeing, one of the few remaining players from Greg Carvel's first season with the Minutemen. His first game at UMass after transferring was the only win the team had over its final 23 games (and one where Carvel told me postgame Boeing was the team's best player). Getting the chance to pick Boeing's brain on how he dealt going from that to one win away from a national championship was interesting. It's also likely the first time Big Sean has ever been mentioned on College Hockey, Inc.'s website.

Minnesota Hockey Magazine: (Click the link for full feature)

For Minnesota Hockey Magazine, I wrote a long feature on the weekend as a whole for Minnesota Duluth. It weaves in small details with big picture items, such as how UMD approached the weekend and what it means for the Bulldogs to repeat as national champions.

Wild.com:

Minnesota Wild prospects take center stage in the two Wild.com features. The first looks at Providence junior forward Brandon Duhaime and Minnesota Duluth sophomore forward Nick Swaney on making it to Buffalo. The second is on Swaney winning the national championship.
