Minnesota's second game against Penn State moved to Sunday October 15

With Gopher football playing Michigan State next Saturday night across the street at TCF Bank Stadium, the Minnesota men's hockey series finale against Penn State moves to Sunday October 15.

The home opener remains unchanged on Friday October 13th.

Game time is set for 3 p.m. CT, right around the end of Vikings-Packers, for those interested. Fox Sports North will continue to broadcast both Minnesota-Penn State games that weekend, as will KTLK 1130 AM

(Click here for Minnesota's full season TV schedule - I plan on blogging about what it means at some point this week although don't hold me to it.)

If there's one silver lining, Twin Cities hockey fans do not have to choose between NHL and college hockey. The Gopher game no longer overlaps with the Minnesota Wild home opener at Xcel Energy Center.

October 13-14 remains the only weekend during the regular season where Minnesota men's hockey and football are both at home.
